Holiday Mulled Latte
With fragrant mulled spices, this coffee latte is the perfect way to celebrate Christmas morning.
Servings: 2 drinks
What you need
2 strips orange peel (each about 2-inches/5 cm long)
1/2 cinnamon stick (about 2 inches/5 cm long)
6 allspice berries
3 whole cloves
3 cardamom pods
1 tbsp (15 mL) brown sugar
1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla extract
1 cup (250 mL) 2% milk
1 tsp (5 mL) freshly grated orange zest
2 cinnamon sticks
How to prepare
- Stir together brewed coffee, orange peel, cinnamon stick, allspice, cloves, cardamom, brown sugar and vanilla. Let steep for 5 minutes; strain.
- Meanwhile, heat milk in saucepan set over medium-low heat; cook, stirring often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until steaming. Whisk with frother or hand blender until frothy.
- Divide coffee mixture between 2 large mugs. Pour frothed milk over coffee. Top with orange zest; garnish with cinnamon sticks.

Spike the latte with brandy, rum or bourbon if desired.
