Caramel Spiked Macchiato
This espresso macchiato is spiked with rich caramel, and topped with frothy milk, for a delicious anytime treat.
Servings: 2 drinks
What you need
1/2 cup milk
3 tbsp prepared caramel sauce, divided
1 pinch of sea salt
How to prepare
- In a small saucepan, heat milk over medium-low heat, stirring often, for 2 to 3 minutes or until steaming. *Alternatively, heat milk in a micro-wave safe cup on High, stirring every 30 seconds for 60 to 90 seconds or until steaming.
- Whisk with a frother or hand blender until nice and frothy.
- Divide coffee between 2 mugs. Stir 1 tbsp (15 mL) caramel sauce and a pinch of salt into each mug.
- Drizzle with remaining caramel sauce.
Top with whipped cream if desired.
Spike with rum, bourdon or whisky if desired.
