Pecan Pie Affogato
(Makes 2 Drinks)
An affogato is an Italian dessert coffee, known for playfully mixing hot and cold elements such as espresso and gelato. Ours puts a pecan pie spin on the traditional recipe, with a twist of maple syrup for those long Canadian winters.
4 oz. brewed Starbucks® Espresso Roast®
1 tsp. maple syrup
2 scoops vanilla bean ice cream (2 oz. each)
1/4 cup pecan pieces, toasted
2 tbsp. caramel sauce
Stir hot coffee with maple syrup.
Place each scoop of ice cream in small tumbler, dessert glass or stemless martini glass. Pour hot coffee over top.
Sprinkle pecans over top. Drizzle with caramel sauce.
Serve and enjoy!
Tip: Toast pecans in a small dry skillet set over medium heat, tossing often, until golden and fragrant. Transfer to a plate; let cool completely.
