Long Island Iced Coffee
(Makes 2 Drinks)
Layered with complex flavours, this hip coffee cocktail is bold with a smooth finish that will wow your taste buds with every sip.
1 1/2 cups (625 mL) strong brewed Starbucks Truth North Blend, chilled
2 tbsp (30 mL) Simple Syrup (see Tip, below)
2 tbsp (30 mL) orgeat syrup
1 oz (30 mL) amaro liqueur
1 oz (30 mL) vodka
1 oz (30 mL) bourbon
1 oz (30 mL) tequila
8 dashes bitters
1/4 cup (60 mL) 5% light cream
2 maraschino cherries
1. Stir together coffee, simple syrup, orgeat syrup, amaro, vodka, bourbon, tequila and bitters.
2. Pour into 2 tall glasses filled with crushed ice. Top up with cream.
3. Spear each maraschino cherry onto skewer; garnish each serving with maraschino cherry.
Tip: To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in small saucepan; bring to boil. Cook for about 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved. Let cool completely. Can be covered and refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
