Iced Coffee Lemonade
(Makes 1 Drink)
It may seem an unlikely combination but adding lemonade to your iced coffee creates a bold, tangy and delicious drink. Think of it as an Arnold Palmer, with strong coffee instead of black tea.
1 cup double-strength coffee* (try Starbucks® Breakfast Blend brewed in a coffee press)
½ cup lemonade (homemade or readymade)
Splash of sparkling water
Recipe for Homemade Lemonade (makes about 3 cups)
In a small saucepan, combine ¼ cup sugar and ¼ cup water.
Stir over medium heat until sugar has dissolved into simple syrup, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool completely.
In a pitcher or large jar, add the simple syrup, 1¾ cups water and ¼ cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Stir to combine.
Store in an airtight container and refrigerated for up to 3–4 weeks.
Fill a glass with ice.
Pour double-strength coffee and lemonade over the ice.
Stir together, then top with a splash of sparkling water.
Serve and enjoy!
*Because the ice and lemonade will dilute the coffee, you’ll want to double brew it. If you’re using a coffee press, add 4 tbsp. of coffee to every 6 oz. of water.
