Chocolate Lovers Mocha Latte

(Makes 2 Drinks)


This rich and creamy mocha latte is an afternoon indulgence that’s worth sharing.



  • 2 cups (500 mL) hot strong brewed Starbucks® Pike Place roast

  • 1 cup (250 mL) milk

  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) cocoa powder (approx.)

  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) granulated sugar

  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla extract

  • Pinch sea salt

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) whipped cream

  1. In small saucepan set over medium-low heat, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and salt.

  2. Cook, stirring often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until steaming; whisk with frother or hand blender until frothy.

  3. Divide coffee between 2 large mugs; pour in frothed hot chocolate.

  4. Dollop whipped cream over top.

  5. Dust with cocoa powder.



    • Alternatively, in microwave-safe measuring cup, heat milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and salt in microwave on High, stirring every 30 seconds, for 60 to 90 seconds or until steaming.

    • Garnish with shaved dark chocolate or drizzle of chocolate fudge sauce if desired.
