Chocolate Lovers Mocha Latte
(Makes 2 Drinks)
This rich and creamy mocha latte is an afternoon indulgence that’s worth sharing.
2 cups (500 mL) hot strong brewed Starbucks® Pike Place roast
1 cup (250 mL) milk
2 tbsp (30 mL) cocoa powder (approx.)
2 tbsp (30 mL) granulated sugar
1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla extract
Pinch sea salt
1/2 cup (125 mL) whipped cream
In small saucepan set over medium-low heat, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and salt.
Cook, stirring often, for 3 to 5 minutes or until steaming; whisk with frother or hand blender until frothy.
Divide coffee between 2 large mugs; pour in frothed hot chocolate.
Dollop whipped cream over top.
Dust with cocoa powder.
• Alternatively, in microwave-safe measuring cup, heat milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and salt in microwave on High, stirring every 30 seconds, for 60 to 90 seconds or until steaming.
• Garnish with shaved dark chocolate or drizzle of chocolate fudge sauce if desired.
