Caramel Spiked Latte

(Makes 2 Drinks)


This espresso macchiato is spiked with caramel and topped with frothed milk. Serve as a sweet treat any time of the day or even as dessert after dinner.



  • 1 cup (250 mL) hot brewed Starbucks® Espresso

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) milk

  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) prepared caramel sauce, divided

  • Pinch sea salt

  1. In small saucepan, heat milk over medium-low heat, stirring often, for 2 to 3 minutes or until steaming.

  2. Whisk with frother or hand blender until frothy.

  3. Divide coffee between 2 mugs. Stir 1 tbsp (15 mL) caramel sauce and salt into each mug.

  4. Pour frothed milk over top.

  5. Drizzle with remaining caramel sauce.


Top with whipped cream if desired.

• Alternatively, in microwave-safe measuring cup, heat milk in microwave on High, stirring every 30 seconds, for 60 to 90 seconds or until steaming.

• Spike with rum, bourbon or whiskey if desired
