Brown Butter Banana Shooter
(Makes 4 Shots)
These shots are great iced as well. Simply shake ¼ cup banana caramel with chilled coffee, top with ice, and shake vigorously for 12-15 seconds. Here’s how.
6 oz. Starbucks® French Roast
1 K-cup® pod brewed at 6 oz.
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 ripe bananas, mashed
4 oz. heavy cream
Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
Whipped cream, for topping
Crushed vanilla wafer cookies, for garnish
Banana chips, for garnish
Melt butter in a large skillet, swirling frequently until butter begins to brown and takes on a nutty aroma.
Sprinkle in brown sugar and granulated sugar, swirling pan gently so they melt and begin to caramelize, then stir in mashed banana and heavy cream. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, season with freshly grated nutmeg. Set aside to cool completely before blending until smooth. Mixture will keep for about 5 days in the fridge.
To assemble shots, place 1/4 cup of banana caramel in a glass and stir in hot coffee.
Pour into 4 shot glasses. Garnish each glass with whipped cream, a sprinkling of crushed vanilla wafer cookies, and a banana chip.
